About
Many companions work alone when visiting clients in their homes, accompanying individuals into the community, attending appointments, or carrying out wellbeing visits. Working alone can be rewarding, but it also presents unique risks. Lone workers may face situations involving accidents, illness, environmental hazards, challenging behaviours, unsafe locations, safeguarding concerns, or emergencies without immediate access to assistance. This training provides the knowledge and practical strategies needed to identify risks, work safely, follow organisational procedures, and respond appropriately to emergencies. The aim is to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and confidence of all staff delivering companionship services.
