About
Trusted Companionship provides companionship services to adults, older adults, and disabled children who may be present in the same environment. Companions often support an adult client while disabled children or disabled adults are present in the home, during outings, or during travel. This creates a mixed needs environment, where companions must maintain professional boundaries, work safely around disabled children, support adults without assuming childcare responsibilities, recognise risks affecting both adults and children, follow safeguarding procedures for both groups, promote dignity, independence, and wellbeing, and work in line with Trusted Companionship policies. This training equips companions with the knowledge and practical skills needed to work safely and professionally in environments where adult clients and disabled children interact.
